About The Role

Axiom Builders is looking for an HR Coordinator to support our growing HR team and company of 800+ salaried and hourly employees. This role will support a variety of HR functions, including HR Operations, Talent Acquisition and Benefits Administration to provide essential administrative support throughout the entire employee life cycle from onboarding to the offboarding process.


Our HR team is driven by building relationships and implementing programs and initiatives that provide the best employee experience. We strive to make every interaction with employees and managers easy and simple. The HR Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for inquiries and will have a unique opportunity to actively participate in shaping and supporting future HR initiatives and projects.


Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor and working under the guidance and support of multiple HR Advisors, you will take on diverse responsibilities (even leading some tasks of your own), with a strong emphasis on building relationships while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities

HR Operations (40%)

  • Support the new employee orientation process, by being the first point of contact for new hires before they join the company;
  • Manage the shared HR inbox, ensuring to promptly respond to inquiries and triage requests as needed to the appropriate HR contact;
  • In partnership with the HR Advisors, draft various employee letters (including promotions, role changes and confirmations of employment);
  • Maintain and safeguard employee data and HR documentation with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality;
  • Conduct research and provide insights into improving HR processes, policies, and guidelines based on best practices;
  • Support various HR initiatives and projects, such as the performance feedback program and employee engagement initiatives and creating helpful employee resources.

Talent Acquisition (35%)

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to deliver a positive overall candidate experience;
  • In partnership with the TA Advisors, pre-screen resumes, build candidate lists and schedule interviews;
  • Administer background checks and conduct thorough reference checks to minimize risk to the company;
  • Support the implementation of a new applicant tracking system (ATS) to help scale the business to bring in the best construction talent.

Benefits Administration (25%)

  • Own the tracking and management of parking and transit benefits, maintaining accuracy of the data;
  • Be the main point of contact with parking and transit vendors, ensuring to stay up to date on costs and general updates;
  • Provide support to employees with inquiries related to parking and transit benefits;
  • Work closely with the Payroll team to communicate benefit updates that impact employee’s pay.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • At least 1-2 years of HR experience in an administrative or coordinator role;
  • Previous experience with HRIS system is considered an asset;
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

The base salary range for this role may be $50,000 to $60,000, depending on experience. During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.
