About The Role

Axiom Builders’ Manager, Talent Acquisition will lead our short and long-term talent acquisition strategy, attract best-in-class professionals passionate about construction and support our growth plans across North America.


The Talent Acquisition team represents one of the most strategic functions of our business. Not only is this team charged with supporting our executive team in new markets, they are key in ensuring that our current projects and teams are fully supported and have the team members they need to deliver top quality work to our clients.


The Manager, Talent Acquisition’s role oversees the entire talent acquisition operation (includes campus programs, executive search, and staffing), develops and upskills our growing team, and participates actively in larger human resources initiatives related to talent attraction, employee engagement and employer brand – all with the guiding principle of aligning with our company values: accountability, autonomy, respect, excellence and humility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Overall Operations: Lead a growing team to manage our full-service, end-to-end talent acquisition operation designed to provide the best talent acquisition support that prioritizes timeliness and communication;
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Work as business partners to our business leaders; deeply understand and forecast their people needs, develop effective sourcing strategies and execute on short and long-term hiring plans customized to their businesses;
  • Excellence in Candidate and Manager Experience: Elevate our process and workflows to always ensure a positive candidate and hiring manager experience at all stages of the recruitment cycle;
  • Candidate Pipeline: Pursue high-caliber candidates and build a candidate pipeline for specialized and senior-level roles through active recruitment strategies and ongoing industry representation at events;
  • Agency Management: Partner with preferred agency partners to curate the best candidate selections for our hiring managers; Review agency agreements and performance on a regular basis;
  • HR Technology: Be the subject matter expert in the recruitment module of our HCM optimization project - analyze and own the accuracy of all candidate data to measure, monitor and report on hiring success across all roles and entities;
  • Trends and Innovation: Stay ahead of construction industry insights, hiring trends and best talent acquisition to ensure our operations remain competitive, innovative, and forward-thinking;
  • Leadership and Culture: Foster and encourage a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture as part of the HR leadership team.

When working with candidates and managers, you know that communication and proper prioritization of your roles and projects are keys to a successful partnership and will always make sure this is integrated into the way you work. You are a critical thinker, always strategizing outside of the box to navigate a potential hurdle for the people you work with.

You also like to have fun, genuinely get to know your colleagues personally, and gain energy by being around like-minded people. You see the team as confidants and are committed to supporting others through busy seasons.

Skills and Experience

  • At least five (5) years of proven experience in talent acquisition or agency recruitment, with a focus on construction or a related industry highly preferred;
  • Innate ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers and external partners;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop a growing team of various experience levels;
  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills to navigate a large and fast moving organization with regularly changing hiring needs;
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills for drafting job postings, candidate presentations, and proposing new ideas to executive leadership;
  • Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, will be considered an asset.

The base salary range for this role may be $100,000 to $120,000 depending on experience in talent acquisition and construction, plus quarterly incentive earnings based on the Talent Acquisition team's performance, as well as individual hiring success and quality.
