About The Role

The Superintendent leads, directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and laborers. This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the construction site on an assigned project, executing field operations safely and in a manner consistent with Axiom Builders objectives.

 

We are currently looking for a Superintendent for a two towers of 19 and 19 stories sitting on a 5 story podium. This project will have 264 new rental units including office spaces and medical offices. This project is based in the Mount Pleasant, Vancouver. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and developed of site team members through regular feedback, training and coaching timely completion of performance evaluations;
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed;
  • Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues; works collaboratively with Project Manager to resolve issues;
  • Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work;
  • Ensure sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives;
  • Maintain daily paperwork including field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, etc;
  • Ensures and encourages all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the company safety policies;
  • Works under the supervision of Head Office, communicates effectively with all departments and provides reports as requested.

What You Bring

Your extensive experience on concrete high-rise towers as well as positive references from your previous trade partners will be crucial to your success in this role. You can communicate effectively to head office as well as to your crew. You are friendly and dependable, but most importantly, you are loyal. You are committed to quality and will work hard and proactively to ensure the project is on schedule.

 

Skills and Experience

  • At least six (6) years of experience working on high-rise concrete projects as a site superintendent for a general contractor;
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in Construction or a related field;
  • Strong ability and proven experience in leading a site crew of various sizes;
  • An extensive history of working on a site until project completion and success.

The base salary range for this role may be $120,000 to $160,000, depending on experience, plus a competitive [performance-based / project based] bonus program. During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.
