About the Role

Axiom Builders is looking to bring on a Workforce Manager to take full ownership and accountability to attract, retain, and assign all field employees across our various construction sites by leveraging our field operations and talent acquisition. Working closely with the Vice President, Field Operations and the Manager, Talent – this role is key in bringing like-minded people to a scalable and longstanding organization rooted in family, values, commitment, and quality.


Key Purpose:

  • Develop creative recruitment and hiring strategies to bring in a steady pipeline of quality control technicians, foremen, labourers, and other hourly based construction talent, in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team;
  • Forecast labour needs with the project teams and site leaders prepare and plan for hiring volume;
  • Determine site assignments in conjunction with superintendents to ensure adequate labour volume to meet cost, schedule, and quality demands;
  • Visit construction sites on a weekly basis to ensure quality of hires across multiple construction sites.

What you Bring

The ideal Workforce Manager has background in a high-volume talent acquisition, staffing, or workforce management with a major focus on construction. You are self-managed and entrepreneurial, and you can work independently and think strategically when required. You are resourceful and resilient when facing challenges. People would describe you as a people person - you can naturally build strong friendships with individuals with a variety of personality traits.


Our Must Haves

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resources, Construction, or a related field;
  • At least three (3) years of workforce management or talent acquisition experience, with a focus on high-volume recruitment;
  • Some understanding of unionized work environments;
  • Some on-site construction experience will be considered an asset;
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the natural tendency to want to influence culture;
  • Ability to work in a volume-intensive environment; can excel under pressure and manage shifting timelines and priorities.
