Safety Administrator

Axiom Builders is looking for a Safety Administrator to join the construction safety team and support all operating companies. This is a new and emerging opportunity and will support the efforts of the Director of Safety to organize/maintain our safety records, track safety data, improve our safety rating, and reduce claims.  The Safety Administrator will have three main areas of focus:

• Maintaining safety records and documentation in a timely and organized manner;
• Discover and implement opportunities to automate safety processes;
• Proactively maintain and update company safety manuals;
• Track safety data and through the assessment of numbers, mine for insights that produce opportunities for improvement;
• Assisting Director of Safety with claims management and general support;
• Support the Director of Safety on claims management/submissions, incident reporting and enforcing protocol;
• Reporting on the status of WCB claims, incidents and injuries;
• Liaising with the Workers' Compensation Board of BC;
• Prepare and support managers who have employees returning to work following injury.

The successful candidate has the ability to think outside the box and places significant emphasis on building a trusting relationship with the team and leaders. You understand construction work process and see the value in a seamless partnership between the safety and the on-site team. Axiom is looking for an out of the box thinker, someone who has an inquisitive and resourceful way of working to mine our safety data for insights.

Our Must Haves

• At least 3-4 years of experience in construction - ideally formwork construction;
• Relevant experience or academic background in construction safety process and procedures;
• Ability to connect and build relationships and trust with all levels of management, site staff, as well as external stakeholders, including the Workers' Compensation Board representatives;
• Highly detailed and organized;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
