Assistant Project Manager

Partnering with a Senior Project Manager and Projet Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will be focused on building out a multi-phase, wood-frame community in Squamish.  This master-planned community is located just steps away from downtown Squamish, and is comprised of almost 1,000 two and three-bedroom townhomes and apartments, as well as 50,000 sq ft of commercial space and a 17,000 sq ft Amenity Centre.

The Assistant Project Manager will direct and assume responsibility for the project performance including costs, schedule, quality assurance and project status.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work in partnership with our project accounting team to submit all progress claims, provide forecasts, cost to complete, invoice reviews and cost management in Procore;
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects and ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
• Develop and manage project scope, schedule, costs and objectives, involve all relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility;
• Promote and project the company image of efficiency, quality, and technical competence and fair management of trades and suppliers;
• Other duties as required.

Note: This position is based on-site in Squamish.

The ideal candidate is organized, trainable and have a strong business acumen - always excited to learn new things. Your strong excel or project accounting background will be a major asset to the team. You are growth-oriented. While this project is a long-term, multi-phase masterplan community based in Squamish, you have already considered the opportunity to learn the construction process of not only a 6-storey residential-commercial building, but also a pedestrian bridge, a neighborhood amenity building and an oceanside community public park.

Our Must Haves

• At least five years of construction project management, site coordination, or project accounting experience;
• Wood-frame construction experience will be considered an asset;
• Intermediate proficiency in Procore (or comparable project management system) required;
• Experience in construction project accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
• Post-secondary education in Building Technology, Construction Management, Accounting or similar field will be an asset;
• Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally to all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
