Assistant Site Superintendent

As a key member of the Construction team, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible to assist with the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of a construction project, ensuring all site activities are fully coordinated.  Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting with overseeing trades and effectively managing daily on site activities. The ideal candidate would possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals and consultants while successfully directing the sub-contractors and other construction related personnel. Other responsibilities include:

• Plan, coordinate and safely execute the work in accordance with the construction documents, schedule and budget
• Assist the Superintendent in managing work on site to ensure the compliance of construction drawings and specifications
• Support the Superintendent in planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, equipment and requirements are maintained
• Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control including deficiency lists
• Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety and WCB are enforced
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and suppliers.
• Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Superintendent, Project Manager or VP.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and proactively develop appropriate means and methods to meet and overcome challenges

Your stable and tenured experience on concrete high-rise towers as an Assistant Superintendent as well as positive references from your previous trade partners will be crucial to your success in this role. As a junior leader on site, you can communicate effectively and confidently to head office as well as to your crew. You are friendly and dependable, but most importantly, you are committed to delivering quality work on every project and team that you are a part of - a core principle here at Axiom Builders.

Our Must Haves

• At least three years of experience working on high-rise concrete projects as an Assistant Superintendent for a general contractor
• Certificate, diploma or degree in Construction or a related field
• Strong ability and proven experience in leading a site crew of various sizes
• An extensive history of working on a site until project completion and success
